Tubbataha Youth Ambassadors Joins National Reading Month Celebration

On 29 November 2018, the Tubbataha Youth Ambassadors joined the celebration of the National Reading Month with a theme: “Pagbasa: Susi sa Magandang Kinabukasan”, in Tumarbong Elementary School (TES), Brgy. Tumarbong, Roxas, Palawan.

In line with the celebration, the Tubbataha Youth Ambassadors prepared a short storytelling session featuring a shark and his friend showing.  The story drove home the point that even if sharks are big, toothy, and appear to be scary, they play a big role in our ocean.

Young Guardian of the Sea Campaign in Tumarbong Elementary School

The Young Guardians of the Sea Campaign, which included video presentations, lectures, games, and arts & crafts, was also conducted in the school, culminating with the students accepting the challenge of being the next generation of guardians of the sea.

The activity in Tumarbong was sponsored by Aquos Foundation, Inc., a development non-government organization which is based in Roxas, Palawan.  The faculty and staff of the Tumabong Elementary School helped organize the day’s festivities.  The Tubbataha Youth Ambassador Program is fully funded by the Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc., and has been running since 2013.
