Tubbataha Plan revisited, management effectiveness assessed
Tubbataha managers and partners came together in a two-day workshop to revisit the 10-year Management Plan and evaluate management effectiveness on 9-10 December.
The Statement of Outstanding Universal Value (SOUV) of the park, which isthe basis for its declaration as a World Heritage Site, was assessed to determine if the managers has been successful in preserving the values of Tubbataha. Additionally, a new tool for management effectiveness evaluation was introduced to the participants who represents the same agencies composing the evaluation team for Tubbataha. The output of the workshop still needs to be validated.
The workshop is under project grants with the DENR and the Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. this year.
