More Park Rangers for Tubbataha

Twenty-seven (27) more personnel from the Philippine Navy, the Philippine Coast Guard, and the Municipality of Cagayancillo were added to the pool of Tubbataha marine park rangers after successfully completing the three-day 14th Comprehensive Training for Marine Park Rangers in Tubbataha held on August 6-8, 2014. After winning the case against 12 Chinese poachers who were caught in Tubbataha April last year, this new batch of future park rangers became even more inspired to take the challenge of safeguarding Tubbataha.

The Tubbataha Management Office holds the said training every year to inform the participants about the conservation and management objectives for Tubbataha and to raise their perception on their role as sentinels of the reef.
